neighbor
I wish I had taken photos, because I wouldn’t believe this how it’s written if I hadn’t been there myself, but here goes:
I see my younger neighbors often, but I had never seen the other side of their house. Not much reason to be on that side as it’s just a space of 15 feet between their house and their neighbor’s. Just a bit of grass. That is all.
Well, I was on that side of their house this weekend to help with something on their house.
And I noticed a large, glass block window. I asked, “Is that your bathroom?” She said it was. I turned around, and their neighbor had the same glass block window directly opposite, a mere 15 feet away.
But it wasn’t that privacy glass block…this was mostly perfectly CLEAR glass block. I could see through the block window into my neighbor’s hallway.
So, eventually we went inside the house. I made a point to walk by their bathroom from the inside.
Sure enough, that glass block window was their shower! Their entire shower has a window on the outside wall, and I could see through it into the neighbor’s living room and watch their TV! No curtains or any way of blocking the shower window!
So, to make a long story short, whenever my neighbor is in her shower, her neighbors can see her with very little effort other than perfect timing, especially if it’s dark outside and her lights are on in her bathroom. And she can see into her neighbor’s shower as well. And they could, in theory, watch each other shower at the same time with little to no obstruction!
I couldn’t believe it. My heart was racing. I really wanted to ask my neighbor if she was aware of it, if she watches her neighbors, if she catches them watching her, etc, but I don’t know her THAT well to ask those questions…yet. I am trying to find a way to bring it up. I should have brought it up in the moment I was there because bringing it up now would seem weird, but I am dying to ask her!
I assume she knows, but she and her husband are young and rather naïve about a lot of things, so perhaps she thinks that it’s completely obstructed from the outside?
